Electrolytes are minerals that conduct electricity when dissolved in water, and are essential for several body functions, especially hydration.
When do I need to supplement Electrolytes?
When you sweat, have diarrhea, drink alcohol or eat a high fibre diet, your body loses water and electrolytes, and so you need to drink extra water and supplement electrolytes. Drinking too much water alone can actually make you feel thirstier because it dilutes and flushes out your electrolytes.
When you mix Hyda Electrolytes with water, it will make the water fizzy for a short time. Mix 1 tsp with 150ml of water, stir well and drink while it’s still fizzy.
Hyda Electrolytes contains:
Pink Himalayan Salt (Sodium Chloride) –
The most important electrolyte and main electrolyte lost through sweat, diarrhoea, and alcohol use. Salt is essential for your body to hold water in your cells, without enough of it water just passes right through you and you can’t hydrate effectively.
Potassium Chloride –
Helps pull water into your cells, a lack potassium can leave you feeling unusually thirsty and needing to pee frequently, bloated, cramped, and fatigued.
Magnesium Glycinate –
Magnesium makes sodium and potassium better at hydrating your cells, and helps your cells convert that hydration into energy.
Magnesium glycinate also helps relax muscles, improve sleep, reduces stress and pain, and is the most gentle on your stomach form of magnesium.
Citric Acid –
Helps your body absorb magnesium and potassium, helps your body turn electrolytes into energy, and adds a zesty flavour.
Sodium Bicarbonate –
Sodium bicarbonate mixed with citric acid makes the water go fizzy. Sodium bicarbonate also neutralises stomach acid which helps prevent an upset stomach, and supports kidney function to help your body hold onto water.
